Scour Records - Freemixed Nuts: Vol.02 & 03

I've been a fan of Scour records for a while and they consistently release what I would call "party music". Their tunes are always fun and energetic.

I posted Vol 1 a while ago and somehow missed the release of Vol 2. Vol 3 was just released so I want to make sure everyone gets this collection.

If you need music for a party...just put these three volumes on, step back and watch the party JUMP!

For those that missed Vol 1, check it out HERE!!

Here is taste of Vol 2.

Meleka - 'The Funkin 90s' EP

Here's some cool covers by one funky lady, Meleka.

Meleka decided record this series of covers after writing sessions with RnB influenced producers Basement Jaxx and Snakehips (she is set to feature on singles for both in 2015). She felt the covers were a perfect way to bridge the gap between her previous releases and sound and the new RnB influenced original material she will be releasing in next year.

Here is the track lsit.

1. Intro
2. You Don’t Know (702 Cover)
3. Candy Rain (Soul For Real Cover)
4. Are You That Somebody (Aaliyah Cover)
5. Can We Talk (Tevin Campbell Cover)
6. Where I Wanna Be (Donnell Jones Cover)
7. I’m Sorry (Monsta Boy Cover)

Blameful Isles

Then It's Not The End cover art

Play this if you want to class up the joint.

This is just some cool experimental jazz.

Say hello to soon-to-be trip-hop darling Francesca Belmonte.

Tricky signed her to his label and said "Of all the artists I've ever worked with this is the best collaboration, as soon as people hear this album they'll understand why I say this."

Intelligent lyrics, neat glitch beats and superb vocals make this a must watch for 2015.

Expect big things!!!

Download the FREE EP, "An Introduction" HERE!!!

Here is the video for 'Stole'.

Sola - You

Channeling the dark, dreamy sounds of acts like Banks, Tove Lo and Lykke Li, Neo-R&B songstress Sola has just released her newest single"You".

Seductive vocals and sweet beats.

"REVOLUTION - The Shoegaze Revival"

Revolution - The Shoegaze Revival cover art

I think I've died and gone to shoegaze heaven.

Now I'm a fan of MBV, Slowdive and Catherine Wheel as much as the next guy but I also love many newer acts like Ceremony, Sounds Of Sputnik, Wozniak and Overlake.

I am really excited that this fantastic compilation is coming out to showcase more of the "nu-gazers"

In their own words...

"Curated by UK label Ear to Ear Records and Indonesian label Gerpfast Kolektif, this compilation features 30 bands from 16 countries, covering 5 of the 6 inhabited continents. Each was selected purely on the basis of their dynamic sound, without any consideration of geographic preference, label affiliation, popularity ranking or hype. Without even one throwaway or filler track, these are all 'keepers'.

This is not a shoegaze tribute album to MBV or Slowdive, or even The Beatles. There is simply so much greatness to the new wave of shoegaze that we’re focusing on original tracks, which showcase the immense talent of the featured bands."

Take a listen and see why this is going to be one of the best compilations out this year!

Long Live Shoegaze!

Moon King

Fans of this blog will know I am a sucker for shoegaze and dream pop and Moon King's new single, 'Roswell' is a perfect combination of both.

I can't wait for their full length album to be released later this year.

Filter Distortion

I grew up in the 80's and I love all the 80's influenced bands that are coming out now. Filter Distortion is one of those bands and they are doing a great job of distinguishing themselves. I mean...If I didn't know any better I'd think this WAS an 80's band from my youth that I had somehow overlooked.

Here is a preview of their new album, Transition,

I hope to hear a lot more from these guys in the future!

Young Summer

Here is the newest single from Young Summer.

Fans of Broods or A Fine Frenzy will dig this...I know I do. Smooth vocals and nostalgic synth sounds combine to create a fantastic track.

The rest of her album, 'Sirens', is pretty sweet too...oh and it's out now!

Version Big-Fi - Shine

Shine cover art

I'm a huge fan of Dub and I also happen to be quite the anglophile so when Version Big-Fi, a fantastic Dub outfit from the UK, releases a new single...I am a very happy man.

Here is their new single entitled 'Shine'.

Here's my favorite remix.

Buy them (and two more remixes) HERE!!!

Here is an awesome remix they did of New Order's 'Blue Monday'.

Check out some of their other great work HERE!!

Fraser A. Gorman

This is an outstanding demo from folk-blues artist Fraser A Gorman.

Here is the video for his song, "Book Of Love".

I can't wait to hear more from this guy.

I'm a sucker for synth heavy electro house and DeltaFoxx deliver in spades.

Try to listen to this without shakin' your booty!

Here is a great remix of Daft Punk's "Lose Yourself To Dance".

The Shopengauers

The Shopengauers have just release this catchy little pop-house track,"Start Again".

This has had me tapping my feet and bobbing my head all day!

Find more of their cool tunes below.

Juliet Lyons

This is the newest single from Juliet Lyons.  It's a perfect soundtrack to the overcast weather in my area today.

She's got an amazing voice!

She recently had a song featuring her vocal talents included in the new Cinderella movie. Seems like more people noticed her talents!!

I am really digging the new single from Cologne based electronic duo Vimes. It's moody, edgy and groovy as hell.

Here are a few of their other tunes to get you hooked!

Dave Fol

Guilt Erotica cover art

This is an outstanding solo project from Flower Cult member Dave Fol.

Very chill...very good.

Mermaid in China

Mermaid In China (I love the name!) are churning out lovely bits of indie-pop.  I expect to see their name in a lot of press over the next year. These guys have loads of talent.

Really outstanding stuff.

Get ready to strap yourself in for one hell of a wild ride. Flatsitter has released a fantastic ambient album that is also an interactive experience.

In their own words...

"Audio-visual artists Flatsitter (from Buffalo, NY) launched {appear:up:here}, a debut EP that includes an interactive web experience for users and the option to receive a 5.1 surround sound version. The album, recorded in October 2014 at the Institute of Electronic Arts, can be described as a series of ethereal electronic meditations comprised of layered vocals, wafting guitar, and tonal formations generated from an analog synthesizer. The interactive experience, available on Flatsitter’s website, (appear.flatsitter.com), envelops users in dreamlike environments that reflect the titles of each track, named after cloud formations."

Here is a taste of the music.

See the links below for the full experience.

Put on your headphones, turn off the lights and enjoy.

The Sunshine Spectacular

The Sunshine Spectacular is a lovely little group from Australia. Fans of Royksopp will be right at home with the indie-electro sounds these guys are making.

This has been on repeat in my car all week.

Here is a great remix from Safariari.

If you love funky experimental rock (like I do) then let me introduce you to Springh.

Hayley Kiyoko - This Side Of Paradise (Rogue Vogue Remix)

Rogue Vogue has done a wicked little remix of Haley Kiyoko's tune 'This Side Of Paradise'.

Turn it up!

Shy For Shore - Steal My Car

I posted about these guys last summer but they are back with new music and I love as much as I did before...if not even more.

Take a listen for yourself and see why I'm getting all emotional over these two.

The Capture Effect

Fans of Bloc Party and the Klaxons will love The Capture Effect (which is also a phenomenon associated with FM reception in which only the stronger of two signals at, or near, the same frequency will be demodulated).

'London's Burning' is the newest single from the five-piece London based band.

Their electro-synth sound is full of energy and emotion and should get anyone moving!

Teen Daze - A World Away

A World Away cover art

The newest release from Teen Daze just dropped and it's more of the ambient electro-pop you know and love.

Feast your ears on this commanding track "Gold" from Dorthia Cottrell.

The full album will be out in March!

Hundred's new album "Aftermath" is out now. The sophomore album from the Hamburg based band sees them increasing their electronic sound and drifting into Massive Attack/Lamb territory with ethereal, down tempo tracks that expertly float between genres like progressive  rock, ambient film scores and tech house.

Here is a taste of what to expect.

Here is the new video for "Ten Headed Beast".

Here is the live video for "Beehive".

Kaige - The Beast

Kaige has released another club thumper, entitled "The Beast", which is sure to get the club heads moving.

Turn this one up!

Vitamin - Did it for you

UK based quartet Vitamin is back with a sweet new tune. A very fun mix of electronica and indie-pop.

Makes me think of spring.

Dig it.

Here's the video.

Brighton artist James Berkeley is no longer calling himself King Dinosaur. Not that you had even heard of that name before today.

The producer/vocalist/jazz flutist/pianist  (yes, JAZZ FLUTIST!!) has change his moniker to Newsome. What hasn’t change is Berkeley’s ability to make amazing electronic based tunes.

Check out some of his genre bending tunes below.

This is seriously worth your time.

Graeme L.

Let's start of the new year with a bang, a thump and some BASS!

It's my please to introduce you to Northern Ireland's tech-house master, Graeme L.
