Peaches - I feel Cream
Peaches is back with her most accessible album yet. Don`t worry though, her nasty, sexy and just plain wild side is still intact. This time out, Peaches focuses on making a more complete album and she hired the right people to help her do it. The album was produced by James Ford from Simian Mobile Disco, as well as Soulwax, Digitalism, and Drums of Death. With that kind of pedigree, it`s had to go wrong.
This is a full-on, synth-pop, electro punk bonanza and should make both Peaches and her electro pop fans very happy. There are the gritty, dirty bass tracks like `Talk to me` and `Show Stopper` as well as slower synth-heavy tracks like `Lose You` , `Relax` and `I Feel Cream` (one of my personal favourites on the album). There are also a few tracks that throw back to Peaches` older days like ` Billionaire` (with Yo Majesty on guest vocals) and `Mud` in which she chants `Roughed up, Tough luck / What you gonna do now you fucked up?...mud" as well as the thumping `Mommie Complex`.
There are a few filler tracks but, overall, this is really a good album. With some solid production help, she had finally made the album she should have made 2-3 years ago. Like a fine wine, Peaches is getting better with age. I can toast to that.
