Matt Stevens - Lucid
'Lucid' is the newest release from the very talented guitarist Matt Stevens. His guitar work here is some of the best I have heard in years. I would be amazed if several of these tracks didn't make it on to a movie soundtrack sometime soon.
Noted for his work as both a solo artist and as a member of Fierce and The Dead, “Lucid” sees Matt joined by a host of guest musicians including drummer Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson), Bass guitarists Lorenzo Feliciati (Naked Truth), Charlie Cawood (Knifeworld) and Kev Feazey, keyboard players Jem Godfrey (Frost) and Emmett Elvin (Chrome Hoof / Guapo), violinist Chrissie Caulfield (Helicopter Quartet / Crippled Black Phoenix), vibe player Jon Hart and Nicholas Wyatt Duke (Trojan Horse) on Spoken Word. Truly an all-star cast of performers.

The album has been titled quite well as 'Lucid' means "expressed clearly" and "bright and luminous" and the album is certainly both! Made of the last three years, Matt has put together a album that sucks you in, surrounds you with emotion and really makes you reflect on life, the universe and everything. Well...at least that's what it's done for me. I've been lost in the album all weekend.
